My dear husband was a resident in long term care at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for 3 years. It quickly became his home, and my second home. From the first day, when we were met at the front entrance with caring, concerned, loving help to the very last day when my beloved husband entered his eternal rest and the entire available staff on duty surrounded our family around his bedside with a "Service of Love" Christian farewell led by the head nurse on duty. My husband always felt safe, secure, and knew he was in the best possible care. We often expressed how blessed we were that I could push him a short way down the hall to worship services on Sunday mornings and Bible studies and special events during the week. I still visit Good Shepherd often to keep in touch with the dear staff I grew close to, and many of the residents I became so fond of. I thank God every day for Good Shepherd Community right here in our St. Cloud/Sauk Rapids area. We are blessed beyond measure with knowing this care is available for our loved ones, and each of us, when that time of life arrives. The Good Shepherd is GOOD indeed!
