St. Mary is a small Catholic parish that serves Walpole and Norwood in the Archdiocese of Boston and is part of a Parish Collaborative with Blessed Sacrament in Walpole. On June 2014, St. Mary's Parish became part of a new pastoral collaborative under the Disciples in Mission pastoral plan for the Archdiocese of Boston. Disciples in Mission is a groundbreaking plan for the future of the Archdiocese, preparing for the next 50 or 100 years of the Church in eastern Massachusetts, ensuring that every parish is a strong, stable, intentional, and effective center of the New Evangelization.

DIM groups parishes into collaboratives of up to four with one pastoral team consisting of a pastor, parochial vicars, a permanent deacon, and pastoral staff that serves all the parishes.

By grouping parishes, Cardinal Seán was able to makes sure that every parish had a pastor assigned and brought together the resources of multiple parishes to begin the process of a New Evangelization that would see a new growth in the Church.

Phase 1 of Disciples in Mission began in June 2013 and Phase 2 began the following June with St. Mary's joining Blessed Sacrament in Walpole in the new Matthew 13 Catholic Collaborative under the leadership of Fr. George "Chip" Hines. (The collaborative had originally included Our Lady of Sorrows in Sharon, but Cardinal Seán in consultation with the parishes and archdiocesan staff decided to remove the parish from the collaborative in June 2015.)
