About St. Gerard Church - Brooklyn Park, MN

Visit website

The St. Gerard’s family began with a strong sense of community. The people of St. Gerard’s shared a common vision of a faith-filled, Christ-centered parish, in which all were valued and treasured as a man or woman of God. On February 14, 1970 St. Gerard’s parish celebrated our first mass at Riverview United Methodist Church in Brooklyn Park, where space was rented for two years, until we could build our own church. February 6, 1972 the Methodist Congregation shared in our last prayer service in their facility. Together we formed a caravan and together we moved our belongings to our new church building in the final stages of construction. The Church of St. Gerard had a new permanent home in Brooklyn Park.

Today, St. Gerard’s is home to 1500 households – over 4,000 parishioners, 12 staff members, and hundreds of volunteers who work together in community to be the hands and feet of Christ. The Eucharist and Sunday liturgy are at the heart of the life of the parish. St. Gerard’s welcomes all to join us and celebrate the Eucharist at one of our three weekend liturgies or at daily Mass in the Chapel.

We are a vibrant, diverse, faith-filled, Christ-centered community, as evidenced by our excellent worship and faith formation opportunities, our Christian hospitality to all who come through our doors, and our desire to build strong relationships with those in need through our many social justice and outreach ministries. Welcome to St. Gerard’s!
