Parish Ministries


       MISSION:Assist priests at  Masses and other liturgical services (weddings and funerals). Altar Servers add to the solemnity of the service and help bring Jesus closer to people.

       SCHEDULE:Generally, one Mass every weekend.
Occasional weekday Masses for adult altar servers.

       MEMBERSHIP:Open to all young people 4th grade and above, and intersted adults attending weekday Masses who wish to assist our priests in giving people the love and strength needed in their daily lives.

       TRAINING/SUPPORT:Training sessions are required for new altar servers, and are held on occasion to prepare for Holy Masses or church processions.


       MISSION:To reverently bring the Body and Blood of Christ to God's people during Mass and, at times, to the sick and homebound.

       SCHEDULE:Generally 1 or 2 Saturdays or Sundays per month.

       MEMBERSHIP:Contact pastor for information.

       TRAINING/SUPPORT:Candidates receive liturgical and doctrinal training.

       MISSION:Welcome people into church for services, distribute appropriate materials for congregational participation, and take up the collection.

       SCHEDULE:Generally weekly at the weekend Mass you regularly attend.

       MEMBERSHIP:Open to all adult parishioners.

       MISSION:To proclaim the First and Second Reading and lead the congregation in the Prayer of the Faithful at weekend Masses or services (e.g. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Thanksgiving).

       SCHEDULE:Generally on or two Saturdays or Sundays per month.

       MEMBERSHIP:Open to all age 16 and over.

       TRAINING/SUPPORT:Lectors are provided with a Lector's Workbook to prepare for reading and presentation. Meetings are held at St. Josaphat's to familiariaze lectors with general protocols and any changes in procedures, and lectors are invited to attend training sessions the Diocese hold on occasion.

ADULT CHOIR (still needs to be organized)

       MISSION:To enhance liturgical services through music and song.

       SCHEDULE:Generally weekly at the Sunday Mass you regularly attend.

       MEMBERSHIP:IF you like to sing, the choir is open to all parishioners.


       MISSION: To reaffirm our parish community’s commitment to promoting a Culture of Life from natural conception until natural death and the integrity of the family unit. RTL supports and assists other organizations with similar goals as needed through fundraising activities and prayer vigils.

Annual Baby Bottles for Life fundraising drive for Bridge to Life;
“Pennies for Life” donation box in vestibule of church.

       MEMBERSHIP: Open to all parishioners.

       MEETING DATES: Second Monday of the month from September to June.

       MEETING TIME:7:30 PM

       LOCATION:Rectory Basement Meeting Room.

VOCATION COMMITTEE      (Connittee members needed.)

       MISSION: To find ways to (1) promote vocation awarness
(i.e. literature, information in bulletin); (2) coordinate prayer campaigns; (3) inform individuals intereseted in joining a religious order about resource programs and organizations, such as Project Andrew meetings and the Pope John Paul II Discernment Center.

       EVENTS/ACTIVITIES:Pray the Rosary for Vocations, where parishioners select a particular day to pray for vocations each month.

       MEMBERSHIP: Open to all parishioners.

       TRAINING/SUPPORT:About twice a year, Committee members are invited to attend meetings hosted by the Diocese's Vocations Committee for guidance on how to carry out its mission.


       MISSION: Teach children, who attend the Parish Religious Education Program for grades 1 to 8, our Catholic faith to prepare them to receive the Sacraments and to lead their lives according to our religious teaching.

       MEMBERSHIP: Open to practicing Catholics. Background check and Virtus Training required.

       SCHEDULE: Saturdays 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM from October to May with breaks for holiday periods.

       EVENTS: First Holy Comunion, First Penance, and occasional special events (e.g., fundraising for St. Jude Children's Hospital and CHristmas nativity pagents).

       LOCATION: Church Basement


       MISSION:To present free performances of classical sacred music to the community, thus increasing the presence, visibility, and accessibility of St. Josaphat;s Parish. We strive to create a positive image of St. Josaphat's by providing concert goers with a high quality musical experience. We welcome anyone who can work independently, has interest in music, and wants to contribute to the work of the Parish and this Committee.

       EVENTS:Performing Artists Concert Series,funded by the Jobo Music Fund.


       MISSION:Parish advocate assists those with disabilities to participate in parish activities, and welcomes others to help and share ideas to achieve mission.
