Holy Spirit Parish was established in 1963 in suburban West Mifflin by John Wright, Bishop of Pittsburgh. Born of Vatican II, and the first parish in the Diocese named for the Holy Spirit, our community is located in the heart of the Steel Valley, where the integrity and hard-working spirit of our founders is still evident today. Strengthened and nourished by the Sunday Eucharist, We carry out the mission of Jesus Christ by living our baptismal call, spreading the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, seeking justice, exercising good stewardship and inviting others to share our way of life as members of the Body of Christ. We are committed to affirming the unique gifts of each individual and to empowering the laity to share their talents and faith in serving our parish community. We celebrate the diversity of our people and collaborate in order to build the Kingdom of God through our ministry. Led by the Holy Spirit, we journey together in these challenging times. By loving, serving and welcoming others, and in unity with the Diocesan and Universal Church, we strive to meet the spiritual and temporal needs of our community.
