Children's Adoration:  Tuesday, May 14

Once again we will have a Children's Adoration Hour on Tuesday, May 14 in Our Lady's Chapel.  All are invited to attend.  Thanks to Jennifer Pohren for organizing this event.

Mark Your Calendar for Saturday, May 18!

Mark you calendar for St. Mary’s Church of Piscataway’s first ever Everything Under the Sun event scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2013, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What is Everything Under the Sun (EUtS)?  EUtS is a yard sale, flea market, craft and vendor fair all rolled into one with some other activities thrown in.  Everyone comes out a winner – St. Mary’s, vendors, customers!
EUtS is a great way for parishioners and school families alike to sell unwanted “treasures” that have piled up in the house over the winter months.  Maybe you got a gift for Christmas that just isn’t your style.  EUtS is your opportunity to turn these treasures into cash.  St. Mary’s will rent you a parking space for the day, along with an 8’ table and a chair.  Set-up shop and sell, sell, sell!  Keep your profits or donate all or a portion to St. Mary’s – it’s up to you.
Information regarding the "Turn to Jesus" initiative:

We have recently witnessed a number of violent and devastating events which can make us feel as though we live in uncontrolled chaos and violence. In the midst of this darkness, Jesus invites us to accept his peace, to open our hearts to his love and discover a new way of living.
The resources below are designed to help you Turn to Jesus and find comfort in the midst of darkness.

Do you have a picture of Father Patrick George Minnehan or of our Old Chapel?

St. Mary's Church is trying to locate a picture of Father Patrick George Minnehan (3/13/1866-1/3/1928).   Father was the pastor here at St. Mary's and St. John the Evangelist for over 30 years.  St. Mary's Chapel was rebuilt and dedicated in 1904.  We would love any pictures of our old chapel that anyone might have...please check your relatives pictures of baptisms, marriage and other sacraments.  We have a special copier that can make copies of your pictures and we will then return them to you.

Catholic Standard Subscriptions

Do you know that purchasing a Catholic Standard subscription helps save St. Mary’s money?

Basically, we are assessed a certain amount every year for the Catholic Standard based on our registered family count. This year our assessment is $4,458.50. Everyone who purchases a subscription and mentions that they are a parishioner of St. Mary’s of Piscataway lowers our assessment amount. Currently we have 74 parishioner families who have made that commitment.  Thank you to all who are supporting us by paying for their own subscription! If you would like to help, please call the Catholic Standard at (202) 281-2407 or click on Catholic Standard/El Pregonero for further information and/or to subscribe.
