The collection for the local Food Pantry is the third weekend of the month. Please leave non-perishable food and non-food items in the baskets in the entryway.
Waukee Knights of Columbus meet the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7 pm. July-Nov. at St. John’s & Jan.. - June at St. Boniface.
Wednesday, May 22nd St. John`s Social Action Team will meet at 7 pm. All are welcome.
St. John’s Annual Garage Sale will be held May 31st from 2-8 pm and Saturday, June 1st from 8 am -1pm. Drop off your donations after Mass on May 25 or 26th, or Tuesday 5/28, Wednesday 5/29, or Thursday 5/30 from 9 am -3pm, or Thursday eve from 5-8 pm. Please sign up on the clipboard in the entry if you are able to help with set up or the during the sale. Thank you! All proceeds go to the building fund.
Monday, May 27th There will be a Memorial Day Mass at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery, located west of Dallas Center, 0.7 miles north of Highway 44 on County Rd R-16. In case of bad weather we will hold Mass at St. John’s at 9:15 am.
June 17th-21st from 9 am to Noon Vacation Bible School “God`s Backyard Bible Camp Under the Stars”. St. John’s, along with the Methodist & First Christian churches in the Adel, DeSoto & Minburn areas put on an Ecumenical VBS every summer for the youth of the area. Children age 4 thru Kindergarten attend at the First Christian Church, grades 1 & 2 meet at Adel Methodist Church and grades 3, 4 & 5 meet here at St. John’s. In 2012 we kicked off the Expanding Christ`s Love Building Campaign for a new parish hall, classrooms and meeting space. As of 4/6/2013 we have over 1.1 million dollars pledged to this 2.2 million dollar project! We look forward to offering expanded services to our parish members and the surrounding communities.
