Theodore Cardinal McCarrick Coming TO SEAS!
His Eminence will preside and preach - and dedicate our Jubilee Window - at the 11:30 am Mass on Sunday July 12! On October 30, 1984, as the first Bishop of Metuchen, Cardinal McCarrick created our parish; in 1986 he became Archbishop of Newark and in 2000 the Archbishop of Washington, D.C.; on February 21, 2001 he became a Cardinal and in 2005 participated in the conclave that elected Pope Benedict XVI. Though he ‘retired’ in May 2006 - and will turn 79 on July 7 - His Eminence continues to travel the globe, serving God and the Church on various papal committees and by taking part in the everyday life of the Churches he has served - in his native New York – and in the places he faithfully led as Bishop: Metuchen, Newark and Washington - and in countless other ways. We are truly blessed to have Cardinal McCarrick preside and preach during our Jubilee Year of Grace! Since many of the regulars in our ‘hospitality crew’ are on vacation or away that weekend, much help is needed to organize a simple reception after the 11:30 Mass on July 12; please contact the office ASAP if you are able to help!

Dedication of the Seton Window
The new stained glass narthex window over the main doors depicts our patroness and the three things that led her to convert to Catholicism. 1] Our Lord’s Real Presence in the Eucharist, represented by the Host and Chalice; 2] Apostolic Succession and the Supremacy of the Pope, represented by Saint Peter Basilica; 3] our Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, represented by the Rosary. As the first American born saint, the ‘Stars and Stripes’ proudly hails behind her, and the medallion in the rosary is of the Immaculate Conception, under whose patronage the United States of America has been placed. The date of dedication will be Sunday July 12th during the 11:30AM Mass.
