Overview There are five major commissions here at St. Bernard`s parish, each of them have a wide variety of activities to get involved in. This section should give a brief overview of each of ministry and hopefully encourage you to contact the head of the specific group.
Commission for Christian Service The Church is a community which is commanded to serve in the name of Jesus Christ. The Church has asked that our service be formed along three lines which are deeply rooted in the Gospel and the values which flow from it - service to human life, justice and peace. This commission studies church teaching regarding these issues, educates us about them, and calls us to a greater gospel witness to the defining moral issues of our time.

Commission for Christian Community The Church, by definition, is a community. Yet we face many challenges to this sense of community as our parish grows larger and more diverse. More than a social committee, this commission examines the larger issues that affect the parish community, including those of hospitality, inclusion, and service to those with special needs.

Music Ministry Mission Statement
The goal and purpose of Music Ministry is to enhance the experience of worship by heightening the Word of God with music and to provide beauty to the liturgy through music.
Through strong musical leadership, music ministers strive to enable the song of the assembly to encourage full, active and conscious participation. Cantors, Choirs and Instrumentalists also minister to the assembly by providing music which allows and encourages spiritual reflection.
The life and mission of the Church finds its source and summit in Liturgy, especially in the celebration of the Eucharist. This commission studies the liturgical documents and the Rites of the Church, and works to nurture the spirituality of the parish.

This commission also seeks to deepen the spirtuality of our parishioners through programs such as the Men`s and Women`s Cornerstone Retreats. The Office of Catechetical Formation, Adult Spirituality, Men`s and Women`s Cornerstone, and Youth Ministries are among the ministries which comprise the Commission for Catechetical Formation.
