About St. Thomas the Apostle Church

Our Mission: To proclaim and celebrate the presence of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish, founded in 1907 to care for the spiritual needs of a handful of families who lived in Delmar and on the farms in its environs, now serves close to 3,000 households numbering nearly 8,500 individuals.

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish also has a school (preschool through grade 8). At St. Thomas the Apostle School, every child is encouraged to reach his or her full potential. With a focus on faith and community service that runs throughout the entire curriculum, and academics that meet or exceed those of area public school districts, the St. Thomas student is well-positioned to emerge as a leader of men and women and as a follower of Christ.

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish’s Faith Formation/Youth Ministry Program serves more than 1,000 young people. Faith Formation has under its umbrella the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Adult Education, Sacramental Preparation, and Intergenerational Programs.

Moses' wish, "Would that the Lord might bestow His Spirit on them all," is the prayer and goal of our community. We have well over 400 of our members ministering in liturgy, catechesis, service and outreach. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to share his/her gifts and talents.
