In Iraq, Imad was a professor and on the wrong side of the extremists. After hiding and living in fear for three years and two months, his and his family’s application for refugee status was accepted, and they moved to the United States where they start with nothing. Catholic Charities got him and his family back on track. The children were enrolled in public schools, and Imad attended cultural adaptation and English classes daily. They are grateful for their new life and look forward to enriching their community.
