| Mission Statement: "Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Hispanic Roman Catholic Mission of the Archdiocese of Detroit. By the grace of God, we believe we are called to serve and share our values, respect for one another, deep and reverent love for family, a strong sense of community, a love for the gifts of life called `Fiesta`, and a devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe."
Our Hispanic culture is expressed in our bilingual worship and celebrations, principally the Mass, but also including Novenas, the Rosary, Posadas, Stations of the Cross, and private devotions, which have been so much a part of the Hispanic Catholic Culture and tradition.
We continue to recognize, develop and support the concept of “Pequeñas Comunidades”, Small Base Groups, for the renewal of our church and the humanization of our society.
Our aim is to be a voice of the Hispanic “Pueblo” in the Blue Water Area. We will strive to upgrade the quality of life by continuing to challenge the injustices of our economic system, employment practices, and public schools.
We will walk hand-in-hand with our brothers and sisters in the church community, seeking to be sensitive to those in need . . . . physical, mental, emotional, spiritual . . . . the elderly, the young, the handicapped, the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the ill-clothed, the substance addicted.
We will strive to provide leadership formation by empowerment, encouragement, providing educational opportunities, and walking through trials and tribulations.
Because of our faith in God’s will, that we love and care for all people, we continue to invite our non-Hispanic brothers and sisters to share our aims and goals, to worship, work and play, side by side, as has been evident throughout the course of our Mission’s history. In all these facets of our lives, above all, we will continue to worship God and give Him glory and thanks for our many Blessings!
