Alfred-Washburn Center (AWC) needs your help!
AWC is a homeless facility operated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Each day, this remarkable mission serves 100-130 homeless who visit to eat, shower, and obtain clothing or to do their laundry. AWC needs volunteers on Saturdays to provide these much-needed services. There is a special need for volunteers on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday who are comfortable interacting with the homeless to listen to their stories to help determine if anything can be done to break their cycle of homelessness. Holy Land Pilgrimage – led by Fr. Joe Callipare, leaves Pensacola on Jan. 9, 2011 for nine days walking in the footsteps of the Lord. The pilgrimage will visit the entire region of Galilee including Nazareth, Cana, Sea of Tiberius, Capernaum, the Mt of Beatitudes as well as the Mt of Transfiguration, Mt Carmel, Caesarea and of course the region of Jerusalem. Summer Bible Study – Father Joe Callipare will offer a six week study on the Book of Job. The group will meet every Wednesday beginning June 23rd at 11 a.m. – 12noon and again at 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Meeting House. The only book needed is the Bible.
